Thomsen. The thesis deals with aqueous electrolyte mixtures. The Extended
UNIQUAC model is being used to describe the excess Gibbs energy of such
solutions. Extended UNIQUAC parameters for the twelve ions Na+, K+,
NH4+, H+, Cl-, NO3-,
SO42-, HSO4-, OH-, CO32-,
HCO3-, and S2O82- are
estimated. A computer program including a steady state process simulator for
the design, simulation, and optimization of fractional crystallization
processes is presented.
